High Rev Simulators was found by Darrell Reed, a Viet Nam veteran, about 4 years before he retired from a major aerospace firm after 37 1/2 years. During his lengthy aerospace employment he was a Manufacturing Engineering Manager for over 25 of those years and held responsible manufacturing engineering management positions in fabrication sheet metal, machining, composites, foundry, electrical wiring, including wire harness fabrication and assembly, minor and major subassembly and final assembly, integration, final installation, test and checkout including DD250 delivery. He was also responsible for program tool engineering, tool design, product producibility, manufacturing configuration and change management control within the manufacturing engineering and manufacturing operational divisions.
High Rev Simulators was started in a 950 sq. ft facility in Los Angeles, California and after Darrell's retirement, he out grew the businesses small building size in short order. He moved the business to a larger facility of 1850 sq. ft and out grew it within the year and moved to the present 3000 sq. ft facility. He is contemplating expansion again to include an additional 8,000 to 10,000 sq. ft of additional production capabilities at the same location. This on-site option would allow the existing 3000 sq. ft building be dedicated to research and development (R & D) and tool fabrication. He believes that production is producing the product along with production support. Moving High Rev Simulators to its present location allowed Darrell to be closer to home (8 minutes) but also convenient to Plant 42 (10 minutes) where the major aerospace companies such as Northrop Grumman, Boeing and Lockheed Martin (Skunk Works) have major facilities, Edwards Air Force Base (35 minutes) and China Lake Weapons Research Base (90 minutes). These locations are rich in manpower resources and brings to HRS's plate a trained skilled work force of many talents. The local area for manufacturing support capabilities is the same as the areas around other major aerospace facilities across the country. Everything that is needed to accomplish a project is available. Also High Rev Simulators is less then 45 minutes from the Los Angeles Basin and whatever is required can be obtained in that geographical area and still be less then 1 hour from HRS's facility.
